Kell, Lila, and Holland battle an ancient evil threatening all the parallel Londons in the heart-wrenching A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab.

The final book in the Shades of Magic series picks up right after the second. Kell is trapped in White London with Red London coming under siege and the bond that keeps his brother alive weakening. In typical badass fashion, the reckless Lila of the mundane Grey London gathers her own magic and crosses worlds to save Kell, Red London, and potentially all worlds.

Schwab absolutely kills it with A Conjuring of Light. From the initial intense action of Kell’s escape, the story only ramps up in tension and suspense. Even the flashbacks to round out Holland can’t damper the taut pacing. The three heroes—Kell, Lila, and Holland—struggle with past animosities to face Osaron, the shadow king from the previously blocked-off Black London. Intense world-building and character development with rapid-fire dialogue offset the fraught sea battles, epic showdowns in castles made of darkness, and an ever-expanding darkness. All of which results in a fantastic trilogy that will capture your heart, shatter it into a million pieces, and slam the pieces back together into a fun, powerful, and epic urban fantasy adventure.
