Deliver Me
Deliver Me is exactly what you would expect in a well-put-together mystery novel. Abigail (Abby) Brookes finds herself pregnant unexpectedly. Counting back the months, she believes she was impregnated at her friend’s New Year’s party. She doesn’t remember what happened that night though, which proves to be a problem as her paranoia gets the best of her. She starts talking to the people who were at the party and even goes as far as accusing the person who brought her home of raping her, even though he tells her that he is a happily married man with children and simply dropped her off the night of the party. On top of this, Abby starts receiving flower deliveries and strange notes from the “father” of her child.
This book captured the element of suspense perfectly. And as I do with all great mysteries, I tried to eliminate the characters as suspects faster than the main character did. Abby being pregnant really made her vulnerable throughout the whole book; however, her friend Danny really proved to be the perfect gay best friend. It’s a fun read that will keep you on your toes the whole way through.
