Mountaineers authors Adrienne Ross-Scanlan (Turning Homeward), and Keri DeTore (Rain Gardens for the Pacific Northwest) will be giving a joint presentation at Third Place Books in Seward Park on Thursday, March 15 at 7pm. Reading from their books and using slides, they will discuss the toxic effects of modern life on our urban waterways and ways each person can begin to mitigate those effects in their own yards and communities. You’ll come away wanting to know more about our native salmon runs, and how to create beautiful gardens to keep water-borne toxins from harming them.

Adrienne Ross Scanlan is an award-winning nature and personal essay writer, nonfiction editor of the Blue Lyra Review, and author of the narrative nonfiction manuscript, Turning Homeward: Restoring Nature in the Urban Wild.

Co-author Keri DeTore is a landscape designer with a degree in horticultural restoration.
