Henrietta likes her quiet life , filled with morning swims and tea. But everything changes when she bumps her head and winds up with a goose egg–a real goose egg. Henrietta tries to return the baby goose to the nest, but when the flock has flown, Henrietta decides to raise her.

Unlike serene Henriette, Goose is flappy, and noisy, and exhausting. Henrietta won’t let that stop her from teaching Goose to swim, and to honk, and to fly. When Goose flies off with the other geese, Henrietta is so proud!

And then . . . lonely. How quiet her life feels now. But the love you give has a way of coming back to you. And Henrietta has a wonderful surprise in store

The Goose Egg is a Winter 2018-19 Kids’ Indie Next Pick, and received a starred review from Booklist, who called it, A captivating and endearing life lesson.

Liz Wong was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she spent her early childhood painting and clambering about in mango trees. Winning the first place trophy in her elementary school poster contest encouraged her to pursue art instead of a sensible career in finance like the rest of her family. Liz holds a BFA in Art and a BA in Anthropology from the University of Washington and currently resides in Edmonds, Washington with her husband and son. She continues to alternately delight and exasperate her family to this day.
