All Dressed Up
Becca and Blake are All Dressed Up for their weekend getaway at a mansion that specializes in murder mystery themed weekends. They immediately get into character and it isn’t long before the murder of their host occurs. The guests all begin to gather clues and decipher who among them is the killer. However, when one of the staff disappears, only Becca senses that it isn’t part of the charade and decides to do some digging. Becca will need to live long enough to figure out the real killer as well as the fake one.
I can’t think of many things that would be more fun than a 1920s murder mystery themed weekend. While the plot was sound, the characters lacked depth as well as the story, which became more about Becca struggling with her feelings about working through her marriage with Blake after he cheated. The actual murder was hastily wrapped up with a lot of holes and the pretend one was barely alluded to at the end. Overall, it’s fine if you have nothing else to read, but maybe your time would be better spent elsewhere.
