Sean Parnell’s second Eric Steele novel, All Out War begins a few months after the events of Man of War. Steele, a member of an elite top-secret unit called “Alphas” is at home enjoying dinner with his mother when suddenly they are attacked. Steele engages the assailants while protecting his mother and they manage to escape with the bad guys following them. In the process, Steele’s mother is gravely wounded and placed in the intensive care unit clinging to life. Overcome with revenge, Steele vows to find and kill every one of his attackers. He finds out that the attackers are Russian with a grudge against Steele. Moreover, a feared terrorist has escaped from a Russian maximum security prison and has teamed up with another terrorist, Hassan Sitta, who is incarcerated in a top-secret prison aboard a ship. Steele and his partner Demo learn of the terrorists’ sinister plot to bomb a summit where many of the world leaders will be assembled. Suddenly, they are thrust into a massive conspiracy and must find and defeat the terrorists before it’s too late.

All Out War is brimming with action and suspense that grabs the reader from the very first sentence. Parnell doesn’t skimp on character development either, as all the characters in the book are very likable and multidimensional. Parnell is on par with other more established writers of the military thriller genre such as Brad Thor and Brad Taylor.
