This beautiful book was written in the Czech Republic and has now been translated into English. The illustrations are by Tomas Tuma. The book features six fold-out pages to properly present the scope of Ancient Egypt. The secret of this book is that it will delight adults as well as kids, and possibly spur a trip to see the remains of the incredible and long enduring civilization. The history spans 3000 years until 332 BCE when it was conquered by Alexander the Great.

This book presents pharaohs, temples, colossi, sphinx, archaeology, and the Rosetta Stone, which was used to decipher Egyptian hieroglyphics. Not only will the reader learn about all these wonders, they can also explore the construction of these marvels and the civilization that built them. Also included are maps of the sites and burial grounds.

The process of mummification is explained with illustrations of the layers involved and the sarcophagus. Lest we forget that there was more to the Valley of the Kings than just kings, the Valley of the Queens is also highlighted from Sobekneferu to Cleopatra. The fold-out sections need to have gentle handling for this delightful and instructive book.
