Bleeding Heart Yard: A Novel

Cassie Fitzherbert is attending a school reunion when one of her former classmates, Garfield Rice, a member of the British Parliament, is found dead. Cassie’s boss, Harbinder Kaur, newly assigned to the Metropolitan Police’s Homicide Unit, is in charge of the case. Cassie finds herself on leave due to her presence at the reunion. The case itself seems to center on the students’ past at an elite school and the death of another classmate almost twenty years ago. Was Cassie possibly involved in the student’s death all those years ago? And what about those gathered at the reunion? Are they now being targeted because of something that happened in the past? If so, will Hardinder be able to solve the high-profile case?

Elly Griffiths has written a superb mystery that will undoubtedly keep readers glued to the page until the end. I think it’s fair to say if you like British mysteries, you will want to read this one. And if you don’t know Griffiths yet, you are definitely missing out. I know I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
