Claire and her small beacon-repair team are on their last assignment before being reassigned to different posts, or in Claire’s case, a desk job. They pick up a distress signal from a luxury space liner that no one has heard from in twenty years. Claire and her crew see this as an opportunity to make some cash from the salvage, allowing them to make their own choices. What they find when they get on board is Dead Silence, along with hundreds of bodies that had met with extreme violence and messages written in blood. Claire and her team will need to figure out what went wrong all those years ago, if they wish to avoid the same fate.
Ghost ships are one of my all-time favorite types of horror stories. It really doesn’t get any better than that, except when it also takes place in space, because that is also one of my favorite things. I really enjoyed the characters in this story, especially Claire and her very broken past, which might be the just the right thing to help people survive. The plot was great and something I hadn’t read about before. It’s always nice to be surprised. I highly recommend this book.
