Do Sheep Count Sheep?: How Animals Sleep (My First Books of Nature)

Sleep is one of the most important things we can do to heal, rest, and recharge our bodies, and one of the hardest things is to get young children into bed at a proper time. This book will help young children learn how different animals sleep, though it is often busy and the pages are overly crowded. Children will learn about the sleeping habits of several different animals, from those that rarely sleep (ants) to those that sleep nearly the entire day away (koalas); along with their sleeping habits, where they sleep and for how long.

Each double-page spread focuses on a different animal, giving informative facts along with some humor as well to keep the young reader entertained. Each page features a variety of poses of the animal, whether it is sleeping, waking up or getting ready for bed, while explaining the different ways animals make their beds, such as hedgehogs making pillows out of leaf’s.

The book is designed for an adult to read to children, though older children who are independent readers can probably read this on their own.
