Doctor Who Travels in Time Coloring Book
A Doctor Who coloring book. Such a simple idea, and yet, perfect. I mean, any other coloring book — whether tied to a particular brand or set in a particular setting — would only allow for a certain style or genre of set pieces. But a show that travels time and space? That means literally anything can be included.
The Doctor Who Travels in Time Coloring Book takes full advantage of this conceit, crafting a timeline of the Doctor’s adventures from the oldest message in the universe up to England in 2012 AD. (Hopefully this means there will be more to come, since there’s SO MUCH FUTURE in Doctor Who.)
With sly references to classic works of art — including one page done in Van Gogh’s inimitable TARDIS-exploding style — this is as much fun to read as it is to color. Each piece is accompanied by an appropriate quote from that episode to add a touch of context to the proceedings.
I must confess, though, it skews heavily toward the New Era of Doctor Who — except the First Doctor, who gets quite a nice showing — so fans of the classic Doctors might feel a bit short-changed.
