Go Sleep in Your Own Bed
When a very tired pig finally toddles into his sty to snuggle down for the night, he finds Cow in his bed. Pig sends Cow into the night and settles in. Cow is annoyed but stomps to her stall. She snuggles down only to find Hen already there and in Cow’s way. Cow sends Hen on her way. Hen straggles off to her coop and . . . well, you get the idea. Many barnyard animals find their way into this fun little story. Little ones will giggle through this sleepy tale as every animal tries to find his or her own perfect place to sleep but bumps into unexpected barnyard denizens in odd places. By the end of the book, everyone finds the right place and is peacefully slumbering.
There is always room for another sweet bedtime story, and this one will not disappoint. Author Candace Fleming writes a sweet, funny story little ones will want to hear over and over again. The illustrations by Lori Nichols, all in quiet tones of blue, brown, and a little red, help to carry the sleepy message of the book but certainly also add to the fun with details that will tickle youngsters.
