God Made All Your Feelings
People have lots of feelings, kids included. What do we do with all those feelings? How do we handle all the emotions that God has given us?
The text is a little longer in this book, but I think it is meant for a child who is a bit older. The rhythm and rhyme are expertly written. I love the text and then a scripture to go with each page dealing with each emotion. I think it helps children see that God gave us these feelings and tells us what to do with these feelings in His word.
The illustrations are in a style with lots of details but more simple shapes and figures. The color scheme is bright but subdued. Each picture matches the text of the emotion very well. My favorite is the illustration of the child in her bed hiding under the covers because she is afraid. I love how that pairs with reminding us when we are afraid we can trust God.
This book is a great one to help parents and teachers talk to children about emotions. I think this is a great one for two-year-old children through to those in second grade. My five-year-old child enjoyed the rhythm and rhyme.
