Half a Soul
After an encounter with a faerie, Dora Ettings was cursed to have only Half a Soul. She lost her emotional half, which knew how to respond appropriately in social situations. Normally, this wouldn’t be such a big deal, but unfortunately, she lives in Regency England. Because of her odd comments and her inability to feel fear or embarrassment, she is very much in danger of not being able to find herself a husband, or worse, of ruining the prospects of her cousin. Another encounter with a different type of magic causes her to become acquainted with the Lord Sorcier, Elias Wilder, the court magician. Dora’s life will never be the same.
This was a fantastic piece of historical fiction with a supernatural twist. Dora is absolutely lovable, even with half a soul. There’s romance, mystery, and faeries all in Regency England, so there’s a little bit for everyone. This is perfect to add to your list if you are looking for something light and fun to read. I highly recommend this for fans of historical fiction and fantasy romance. I look forward to more Regency faerie tales.
