He Said He Would Be Late
He Said He Would Be Late, Liz reminds herself when her husband still hasn’t come home. And yet, she can’t help thinking of that flirty text message she saw on his phone the other day. Since Liz is supposed to be working on her second novel, all she has is time to dwell on her husband and whether or not he’s cheating. Liz will do whatever it takes to discover the truth, even if that means losing herself.
It’s my fault for assuming, but I honestly thought there was going to be a murder in this book. Turns out it is completely about watching a woman slowly unravel while trying to discover the truth. The end, while trying to be shocking, actually didn’t make logical sense. So, overall, if you enjoy reading about someone’s mental instability where you don’t ever find out the truth, this book is for you. I personally found Liz very hard to relate to and didn’t understand the choices she made. I wouldn’t call this thrilling at all, more of a domestic drama. I’m sure someone will love it, but it just wasn’t for me.
