If the Shoe Fits: A Meant to be Novel

Cindy is plus-sized and proud of it. She’s just graduated with a degree in fashion and doesn’t know what her next steps will be. She moves back to her step-mother’s house to serve as nanny for her young triplet siblings while she sorts out her life. Her beautiful step-sisters Anna and Drew are delighted to have her back home. Unlike the classic tale, Cindy’s step-family doesn’t hate her. They get along well enough, although it’s a little difficult to get close to her step-mother, Erica, as she’s a busy producer for the hit reality dating show, Before Midnight.

Her step-sisters are going to be contestants on the show this season, and Cindy decides that she wants to do it too. Not only will she be the first unashamed plus-sized woman to be on the show, maybe she can get a plug for her designs that will help her launch her career. It can’t hurt. When Cindy gets to the show, she discovers that she has already met the eligible bachelor and felt sparks with him. Suddenly, the show means more than a career boost.

This charming story was a lot of fun to read. There’s a colorful and inclusive cast of characters. Although Cindy and Henry are white, there are POC characters as well as many orientations and identities included in this lovable cast. This is also a clean read. No swearing or sex scenes included. Overall, this is a sparkling addition to the legacy of Cinderella and a delightful romance in its own right.
