Author Lucia Barrett has created a moving story of life, loss, love and rediscovery in her novel I’ll Be Looking At The Moon that is sure to touch the hearts of all readers. The Morgan family has been one built on the foundation of business and tradition. As immigrants, they began a successful store that would be passed down to the eldest son from generation to generation. However, with that success comes sacrifice and sadness first seen in the marriage of Noble and Allison Morgan and then with their children Elizabeth and James. Extreme postpartum depression plagues Allison, emotional detachment guides Noble’s existence, and Elizabeth and James are left to rely on each other and their grandparents. It is Elizabeth though who finds a way free and, while studying abroad in France, she finds a place where she can be herself and spread her wings. As she makes a life in Lyon, France, she meets, and falls in love with, restaurateur Antonio who it turns out has a shady past. A past that threatens their love and Elizabeth’s life causes her to return to the states with a secret. As love is tested and survival – both literally and emotionally – are key, the question is what will they do and will they find their way back to each other? |

I’ll Be Looking At The Moon is a novel with such beautifully vivid writing that readers can close their eyes and picture every scene. Barrett’s attention to detail, combined with a story full of so many different emotions, will draw readers in and keep them hooked until the very last page. Characters are very well written and easy to relate to, which is another highlight of this novel. Overall, a romantic adventure for those looking for a love story to get lost in. Barrett has earned a strong 5 stars for I’ll Be Looking At The Moon.
