Imposter
Lilian and Rosie have been estranged for years. When Rosie reaches out to her sister and invites her to have dinner, Lilian accepts. On their way, their car is hit and it leaves Rosie with a traumatic brain injury. Rosie was about to tell Lilian something, but now she doesn’t even recognize her sister and thinks she’s an Imposter. While dealing with Rosie’s care, Lilian begins to dig into her sister’s past to try and discover what it was that she was going to tell her. Someone may have hit their car on purpose, and Lilian won’t stop until she finds out who. This will be the most challenging time yet for these two sisters and only time will tell if they will make it through.
For a debut novel, this was really well done. The complexity of both sisters’ characters brought this story to life. While there is a mystery involved, the story focuses more on the growth and challenges of each sister as well as how they relate to each other. It’s as much an emotional roller coaster for the reader as for the characters. If you enjoy psychological thrillers, I highly recommend you add this to your reading list.
