Jesse James and the Lost Templar Treasure: Secret Diaries, Coded Maps, and the Knights of the Golden Circle is written by Daniel J. Duke, the great-great-grandson of Jesse James. With the death of Jesse James being a controversial subject for many, Duke’s mother made the discovery back in 1995 that James had faked his death in 1882, and then he re-emerged in society in Texas under the alias James Lafayette Courtney. As Courtney, he lived a law-abiding life and joined groups such as the Freemasons and different Lodges. It is rumored that he joined a pro-Southern group known as the Knights of the Golden Circle, an extremely secretive group that is also connected with hidden treasure spread around the world. Through James’s diaries, treasure maps that he left behind, family stories, and various treasure-hunting tales that have been passed down, Duke uses his skills to map out where the treasures might be.

Jesse James and the Lost Templar Treasure is an interesting read full of facts about history. The reader will learn more concerning Jesse James and the groups to which he belonged. It is evident that Duke put a lot of time and research into this book. I recommend this book for the history buff and for those with a love for treasure stories and conspiracy theories.
