Love à la Mode
When Henry Yi and Rosie Radeke are accepted to Chef Laurent’s prestigious cooking academy for high schoolers, located in Paris, they expect a once in a lifetime experience and a chance to hone their cooking skills. They never imagined they might love, or that keeping a romance kindled in Paris could be fraught with so many obstacles.
Love à la Mode is a wonderfully perfect contemporary novel. It has, one might say, all the right ingredients: a fun premise, a gorgeous setting, close friendships, and a touch of romance. Also, food. Lots and lots of delicious food. Fans of cooking shows or even just eating will enjoy the luscious descriptions of food and the technical explanations of how to get dishes just right.
Henry and Rosie are compelling protagonists. They have different strengths in the kitchen and different flaws that make them human, but together they seem so happy and so right that they seem unstoppable. Their back-and-forth banter is charming, as well, and will make readers want to be their friend.
Love à la Mode<.em> is altogether irresistible.
