Married Sex: A Christian Couple’s Guide to Reimagining Your Love Life
Given the title Married Sex: A Christian Couple’s Guide to Reimagining Your Love Life, this book is about so much more than just sex. Written by Pastor Gary Thomas and therapist Debra Fileta, Married Sex goes in-depth on this sometimes touchy subject and explains the in’s and out’s of how to reignite the passion in your relationship. The co-authors share chapters that point to the evidence that God created sex not to be yucky, but to enhance our married relationship – both blessings to us. There is an entire book in the Christian Bible devoted to the love of a husband and wife for each other, Song of Songs, and there is much we can learn from it.
The content in the book covers a range on the topic from it being a Godly ritual, to more in-depth talk of how to please your partner; all content is well-written and certainly not prude. I thought I would would feel icky reading so much about sex, but the authors continuously tie their knowledge and testimonials by others back to God to reinforce that sex was created as a means of helping, not hurting a relationship when done inside a marriage.
