Mirage: A Novel
Mirage is the type of book that I never want to end. From the time I read the blurb, I knew it would hit the book jackpot. It has everything a reader could want in a book—romance, political intrigue, and a plot that isn’t predictable. Readers who like character-driven plots will love this novel. It could be somewhat slow at times, but the world building and character development are the strength of the book. It had a strong female lead and did I mention the romance? It may have been “insta-love,” but it was beautiful and done right. Amani, the heroine, is sent to become a body double for Princess Maram—a hated princess that needs a double, to die for her, if necessary. The author did an excellent job bringing fear to this world. It’s one I wouldn’t want to live in because I would fear for my life every day. Overall, I recommend Mirage to all those in need of a book with a strong character that makes the reader root for her from the very beginning—try to read this and not fall in love.
