Murder Made Her Wicked: A Marigold Manners Mystery
After the events on Great Misery Island, Marigold Manners was able to sell the story and become an independent woman, allowing her to return to her beloved Wellesley College. Marigold plans on resuming her archaeological studies and finishing her degree. Those plans become a bit waylaid, when not long after her return, she discovers the body of a young woman on campus. Marigold will have to use her experience and her wits to solve this murder, after all, Murder Made Her Wicked, or at least to see wickedness everywhere. ||You can’t help but delight in Marigold and her ingenuity. She is kind, smart, and easily makes friends wherever she goes. At the same time, she does not let mysteries go unsolved, making her a woman to emulate. Hobbs does a wonderful job bringing this time period to life and what it was like for young women in 1890s Massachusetts. If you enjoy historical mysteries, especially those by Deanna Raybourn, then this series is for you. While not necessary, I would recommend reading the first book //Misery Hates Company// to get a complete feel for the characters. You won’t regret it.
