Neil Gaiman’s Chivalry
Chivalry is a quaint contemporary telling of Sir Galahad and his quest for the Holy Grail. Neil Gaiman’s modern twist on this Arthurian legend follows Sir Galahad as he attempts to retrieve the grail from the elderly Mrs. Whitaker, who happens to have found the relic at a thrift store. This charming illustrated short story has all the cunning delightfulness readers have come to expect from Gaiman. This subject is truly deserving of Gaiman’s stylings.
Adapted and illustrated by Colleen Doran, this illustrated book is a work of art. Doran, known for her work with Dark Horse Books and DC Comics is no stranger to Gaiman’s stories. Doran has worked on other Gaiman graphic novels including the “Sandman” series. Her illustrations and the coloring bring this story to life. Each page is a masterpiece and the book as a whole is a true triumph. If the eyes are the windows into the soul, Doran has captured all the longings and emotions of each character in their eyes and facial expressions. Chivalry would be a wonderful addition to any collection from the team of Gaiman and Doran.
