Papa’s Coming Home

One can only imagine what it is like to be in a family where the father is frequently away because of his public service. This is a charming and heartfelt story about such a family. They are excited that Papa is coming home from his travels. The children want to make the homecoming special by bringing everything to the airport to assure Papa that he is finally home and appreciated. They all join together to bring out all his favorite things so that he can be properly greeted. These are children-led activities which will be appreciated by the young listeners to this story.

In addition, the illustrations are beautifully done by Dan Taylor, who renders the family in a cartoon but respectful style. They resemble the actual family.||Chasten Buttigieg is a teacher by profession but a stay-at-home dad by necessity. Both he and his partner have become comfortable in the public spotlight and seem relaxed and welcoming in spite of the glare of the famous Papa and his political life.
