Shapes and Colors

We rated this book:

Looking for a book of colors? This book delivers a fun way of remembering colors and then guessing the shapes of different everyday objects that are those colors. When you turn the page you will see if your child recognized the objects without the details.

The pictures are fun and clear. The book has great repetition on helping young kids learn those colors. It is a book I think a child would want to look at repeatedly because of the bright colors and fun guessing game.

The text is very minimal with color words and then words of the objects when they are revealed. This helps children learn the language they need to tell caregivers what they need and be able to talk about the world around them.
This book is a good color book and recognizing everyday objects, but it is not a shape book in the sense that it is not going to help your child learn two-dimensional shapes. I think it is great for babies through preschoolers. It would be fun for a kindergartener who wants something fun to “read” to themselves.
