Ten Kisses to Scandal
Briar Bourne’s career is in trouble. She is a matchmaker for one of London’s top agencies; but alas she has no clue what makes people fall in love and make that connection. Unless she can learn what makes people attracted to each other, her career will be over and she will be ruined. So she hatches a plan to learn the secrets of attractions by using London’s most notorious rake to teach her, and he will teach her all he knows about attraction. While Briar thinks the price for help, a kiss, is not that high, will she be able to not fall for a scoundrel such as Nicholas Blacklowe?
This is a fairly standard plot for many romance books these days, but what sets it apart from others is that it is a fairly enjoyable read. Nicholas Blacklowe is your fairly average Earl, one who is above society and feels he is no part. But it is Briar and her missteps that make the book such a good read. She wants to be a good matchmaker, but she is just clueless and her using the Earl to get what she wants is what saves her career; even though the ending is fairly standard.
