The 6:20 ManThe 6:20 Man, Author David Baldacci’s new standalone book has a main character who is somewhat reminiscent of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher. Travis Devine is ex-military and working a job in the financial world, even though it’s definitely something he does not enjoy. His stint in the Army had reaped many rewards and rankings, however, Devine left because of something that went dreadfully wrong, resulting in two dead soldiers. Travis rides the 6:20 train every morning to get to work, and one day, he arrives to find that a girl he dated has been found dead. Devine is then harassed by the police and is then approached by a fellow ex-military member and told that he needs to help with a mission in investigating his firm, Cowl and Comely. What Travis uncovers puts him in danger, and soon, he finds himself not knowing whom to trust or where to run.

This book started off a bit slow but then really picks up in the second half. There are little clues that get discovered along the way and surprises around every corner. Although this was not my favorite Baldacci book, it is a good read that will keep fans of the author entertained. Devine is an interesting character, and I would like to see a series built around him.
