The Girl in the Headlines
The Girl in the Headlines will keep you on your toes as the main character, Andi, tries to find out what happened on her eighteenth birthday that would cause her to kill her parents. Or did she kill them? She can’t remember. Andi wakes up in a scruffy motel room splattered with blood. She doesn’t remember how she got there and when she turns on the t.v., she finds that she is the number one suspect in the shooting of her parents and the kidnapping of her nine-year-old brother Josh. But where is Josh?
As Andi sets out to try to remember and do a little investigating of her own, she realizes things are not as they seem. Who can she trust? She partners up with the seventeen-year-old kid who works at the front desk at the Midnight Inn and together, they try to jog Andi’s memories by retracing her steps. This book is definitely a nail-biter as Andi throws herself into some compromising situations. This is a book that is easily read in a single sitting.
