The Good Turn (Cormac Reilly series, Book 3)
Peter Fisher is a detective in Galway who is enjoying a rare day off when he receives the dreaded call from the office. An alleged kidnapping has been witnessed, and Fisher has been tasked with investigating. Peter interviews the young witness who saw a girl being assaulted and then abducted. A video was made of the abduction, revealing the vehicle and a partial plate. Fisher contacts his supervisor, Cormac Reilly, and informs him of the circumstances. Reilly fruitlessly attempts to persuade his own supervisor to provide more men but is told to make do with the available resources. Reilly and Fisher soon learn of a missing person report, with Reilly going to interview the family while Fisher looks into the vehicle. A tip leads to a suspect, then a shooting. The child is found at another location, unharmed. However, the problems have only just begun for both Fisher and Reilly.
The Good Turn is the sizzling new page turner from author Dervla McTiernan (The Ruin, The Scholar). This gripping novel will appeal to more than just the mystery lover or detective fiction fan. Cormac Reilly has emerged as an admirable protagonist. The storylines that coalesce into a compelling dramatic narrative will leave the reader breathless and yearning for more from this brilliant author.
