Charlie Goodwin is the cheery cohost of the Holiday baking special, Sweet & Salty, although these days working with her cohost, Austin, has been mostly salty. The two are competing to land a solo hosting gig on Sweet & Salty’s spinoff, Bake My Day. When Charlie gets a concussion on set and loses her sense of smell, she worries that her chances at Bake My Day are in jeopardy, so she enlists the help of her twin sister, Cassie.

Charlie’s return home unlocks a longing for a simpler life. She realizes just how much she has missed her family and the comforts of home. Plus, there is a new handsome fireman in town who likes to frequent the bakery. And Cassie’s foray into the glamorous life in LA shows her that she has the guts to stand up for herself and build the life she wants, which might include the cute PA that is concerned with her sister’s concussion.

Knox’s story starts strong with an interesting take on the typical twin swap narrative. Once the sisters’ trade places the plot slows down and at times their storylines are so similar you feel you are rereading sections of the novel. But, in the end, the plot picks up and is a successful romance full of holiday cheer. Recommended for anyone looking for a light and fun holiday read.
