The Next Wife

It’s hard being The Next Wife. You have to deal with the first wife and her daughter all while trying to keep your husband from straying, after all, that’s how you got him in the first place. Tish is learning all this with her husband, John, who’s twice her age, and still works at the company with his ex-wife Kate, that he founded with her. It seems to Tish like they might be getting back together, so she whisks him away for a romantic getaway to control the situation. Tish and Kate are at war, and John will be caught in the crossfire. How well could it end when you have tons of money, ambition, love, and revenge?

A super fun take on the age-old man who has a mid-life crisis marries a woman half his age while being filthy rich. I enjoyed reading the story from everyone’s perspective. While neither woman is particularly endearing, you definitely don’t read the story and feel sorry for John. There are strong women in this book who will stop at nothing to get what they want or to keep what they have. A fast, fun read that is a perfect addition to your summer list.
