The Plant Paradox: The Hidden Dangers in “Healthy” Foods That Cause Disease and Weight Gain

The Plant Paradox is a very extensive book and few readers will be able to read it from cover to cover, even if they are desperate to try yet another weight-loss diet. Steven Gundry likes to fill the book with as much detail as possible, and it’s hard to keep concentrating on his focus. Unfortunately, his writing is not very good, and his constant promotion of himself and his new Plant Paradox Program feel like a late-night television commercial. This book is another diet book that, according to Gundry, absolutely guarantees weight loss, better health, and getting rid of anything that ails you. It’s also unfortunate that he sees everything in black or white. Whatever he promotes is white; today’s diet, even what is considered a healthy diet, is black. He insists on the overwhelming benefits that modifying eating habits and eliminating many OCT drugs and personal care products will yield for anyone. There are many “Success Stories” as sidebars in which everyone is miraculously cured and loses weight. He also insists that, having experience as a medical doctor, “he is uniquely qualified to discover the solution to your health and weight problems.” He concludes with his weekly meal plans and recipes.
