The World Gives Way: A Novel
Myrra is a contract worker for the Carlyle family until her contract expires in fifty years or someone else purchases it. Myrra and the Carlyle family, along with the rest of the population, live on a world that is a spaceship, traveling for two hundred years to reach its final destination. Myrra takes care of the Carylye’s infant daughter and dreams of a time when she’s free. However, the events of one night leave the Carlyles dead and Myrra on the run with Charlotte. She’s being chased by Security, and she knows she can’t stop running. She doesn’t have much time left before The World Gives Way.
If you are looking for a happy ending, this book probably isn’t it, but it is so well done, I would recommend you check it out anyway. I enjoyed the world that the author created and learning about each new place, even if it’s how it will all be destroyed. I loved watching Myrra and Tobias’ relationship unfold and how they each respond to terrible news. Seeing how they care for each other as the world as they know it ends was beautiful. I highly recommend this book.
