Tilda Hot Chocolate Sewing: Cozy Autumn and Winter Sewing Projects
Nothing makes a home more cozy than calico. There is something about a calico quilt that can warm a person just by being there. But imagine a small flock of calico ducks marching across the hearth or a basket on the mantle filled with calico apples and pears. Tone Finnanger is the creator of a line of calico fabrics showcased in the many projects in this gorgeous book. The projects include simple projects beginners can make such as a buttoned bracelet or soft bowls and coasters. Most of the projects such as adorable deer and mouse dolls or the fruit or ducks can be made by anyone with some experience with a sewing machine. The beautiful quilts and quilted tote bags are for more skilled seamstresses. Each project has an introductory paragraph, materials list including the exact fabric shown (but one could certainly find similar fabrics to get a very good look), preparation, step-by-step instructions, and instructions for assembly and finishing. Patterns are printed in the book to trace or one can download patterns from the website listed. The nearly twenty projects are all pictured with wonderful close-up photographs of the finished products. This is a winner.
