Max and the Spice Thieves

We rated this book:

The first book in John Peragine’s new series, Max and the Spice Thieves is a delightful action-packed story full of character and suspense that will leave its readers standing on edge.

Max Daybreaker unknowingly stumbles into adventure when his mother decides to take him on a journey (of course Max sees this as an opportunity to search for his missing father). While waiting at the docks, Max meets captain Cornelius Cinn, of the Saucy Pig, the ship he’s meant to sail on, while attempting to fight off two thugs stealing his horse. After further investigation, Max finds out that his mother has been kidnapped by a strange inhuman being called a djinn. On his way to find his missing parents, Max meets thieves, assassins, princesses, and polar bears that help him along his journey.

Throughout this incredible story Max Daybreaker goes through harsh challenges and befriends new and different people along the way. I hope readers of all ages are able to enjoy this roller coaster of a story. I recommend readers be at least seven years old. It’s a great pick for pre-teens and teenagers as well. I hope they find it as intriguing as I did.
