The Story of Us
In the beginning, Creator took four simple elements—air, water, earth, and fire—to create the first human beings. They lived freely off the land, embracing each moment, until they were confronted by challenge and adversity. They responded with greed, haste, and bloodshed. Redeemer came to set them free, to offer them a better option, to bring their chaos to an end. He even died on the cross and was resurrected to give them a chance to achieve life eternally. Blessedly, His presence lives on forever, bringing people together with peace and love.
The poetic text and gorgeous, captivating pictures throughout this book artfully illuminate the story of Creation. The presentation is alluring, with only a few sparse words on a number of pages set against vibrant, expressive illustrations.
The author highlights a number of biblically historic events in order to accentuate the narrative. However, young children will likely have a difficult time understanding some of the content. It requires analysis and interpretation. The help of an adult to gently guide them will enable them to fully appreciate it for the beautiful work it is.
