“The reasons people come here haven’t changed in 400 years” Kate McGuire, part-owner of The Cookie House bakery, has found herself in the middle of another murder mystery. A skeleton was found in the yard of her friend, could it be a long lost pirate? Or something more sinister? Kate and her friend Maxi investigate, plus run their businesses and research the history of the famous pirate Gentleman George, Just another interesting day in Coral Cay.

Multiple mysteries unfold in this wonderful Summer read. Smartly written, funny, and full of baked goods, make this the perfect book to read on vacation. Even though this is part of a series it made for a pretty good stand-alone novel, there were only a few references that I felt weren’t fully explained but nothing integral to the plot or characters. I really enjoyed the characters and the vivid descriptions of Coral Cay. The story kept me guessing, but I do feel that the resolution unfolded a bit too quickly. Overall this was very enjoyable and I would recommend it to anyone who likes Cozy’s.
