The Nightwalker: A Novel
The Nightwalker is a vivid thriller novel that kept me searching for answers until the very end. The main character, Leon, suffers from a sleeping disorder that causes him to sleepwalk. There becomes a fine line between what is reality and what exists only in his subconscious. You are taken on a very suspenseful journey while you try to determine if Leon is actually losing his mind. Are the acts he sees himself committing really happening? Is he committing them in his sleep? Or is it all just a dream? Leon himself tries to answer these questions as he looks for any proof that these things are simply an unfortunate side effect of insomnia. At one point in the story I was very disappointed with what I thought was a very unsatisfying climax. But that wasn’t the climax at all. Make sure to read until the very end before making any judgments. The final twist did not disappoint. Any loose ends that might have been were neatly tied up in the conclusion–a very eerie and chilling ending that I could easily see being made into a movie.
