To Have and to Hoax: A Novel
To Have and to Hoax is a fun and somewhat light romantic comedy/historical fiction. Honestly, this type of book is right up my alley: a marriage in trouble coupled with a fiery connection and marriage games galore. I loved it, and yet at the same time, I couldn’t help but think about how immature the two main characters were. For four years they went about no real conversation and ignore each other most of the time. It could all have been solved if they would have just communicated with each other. It annoyed me to no end that we had two grown adults acting so childish. I can admit though that some of the shenanigans they were up to made me giggle. It’s no doubt that Lady and Lord James love each other deeply. They just needed a good kick in the pants to get them back on track. I enjoyed this so much despite some of my annoyances with James and Violet. This was a somewhat funny and romantic tale that I think a lot of readers would enjoy immensely. I know exactly what I want, and that’s a story for each of the secondary characters. There are so many stories you could get from them. I hope the author explores just that!
